More Details

After seeing these in the produce aisle at the grocery store several years back, I thought, these would be great to use in my kitchen! I found a supplier, put the roll on a paper towel holder on my kitchen counter and have used and loved them ever since! I also use them in our Mulberry Lane Farm Kitchens and our Mulberry Lane Farm Market Stand! My oldest daughter (has 4 children) recently asked me to carry these so she can start using them to. (Here you go, Joy!)

I use these in place of Ziploc regular bags and Tupperware or Ziploc snap n’ seal containers. Why? I don’t like having to buy, wash and store plastic Ziplocs and storage containers, and seeing them all over my counter in the various stages of drying! Besides I can never find the lids when I need them. For two, I don’t have the space. For another, I have better things to do than wash plastic containers (work in my 1 acre garden!). For four, the store bought “plastic storage containers” never feel really clean even after only one use. For five, produce bags are cheaper, more convenient and did I mention more sanitary?

What do I use them for? Food storage in the fridge and freezer (I use several bags over top of each other for freezing things.) For leftovers, leave the food in the bowl, pop the bag over top, make a knot, and there you have your “storage container” in the fridge. No twisties needed. When you open up your leftovers, toss the bag. Didn’t eat up all the leftovers? Pop on a fresh new bag and repeat. I use them to store my homemade bread (see photo), pretzels, chips, cookies, cakes, you name it. Always clean, sanitary, fresh and available right in your kitchen! Keep a supply on hand and never run out of “storage containers” again!

They are great for wrapping up disposable diapers after use (rolls are great on the change table!), cleaning up trash in the car, (keep a roll in the back seat!), putting on a wet bike seat, (don’t store the roll on your bike!) or over shoes while you’re painting, or picking up after your puppy on your daily run! You will find a million-and-one uses as I have.
