Matthew's Wedding Part Four

"No, I'm not dreaming.
I really am married!"

Katie with her Uncle Matthew.

"This is prickly, Uncle Matthew!"

"Whew. That's better."

"Truth and tears clear the way
to a deep and lasting friendship."

A very special flower girl, my grandaughter, Katie!
Another of my favorite pictures.
Katie is as sweet as she is beautiful!

I've never seen such a cooperative ring bearer,
and only three years old at that!
(Did I mention he is my grandson?)

"The Aardsma Five"---super-glued together.

"The Aardsma Five" (www.AardsmaFive.com) have a very unique sibling relationship. I think it is because of the deep trials our family has gone through over the last five or six years---it has made "The Aardsma Five" spiritually mature beyond their years. Gerald's serious illness brought them to the realization, at fairly young ages, that life is fragile, and that we all need to stick together and be there for each other, come what may. Gerald's illness and also problems in our extended family super-glued "The Aardsma Five" together in a way that is hard for me to describe to you. It makes my heart rejoice to see the deep love they have for each other and makes me grateful for the trials that contributed to the precious bond they share. I think God is going to use each of "The Aardsma Five" in a mighty way in their generation; they have been tried by fire and are coming forth as gold. I watch with great anticipation to see God's plan unfold in their lives.

"We finally get to taste the cake we made!"

One very happy wedding co-ordinator!
Beautiful job, Rachel!

Very proud parents!

Gerald was honored to be asked by Matthew to be his Best Man. Matthew wrote the most beautiful card to Gerald, asking him if he would stand up with him---how proud he was to have him as his Dad, how he was always there for him, and how he wanted everyone to know that his Dad was his best friend. It was one of those special "sunshiny" moments in my life to ponder and cherish on those "rainy days" that inevitably come to everyone.

When a father gives to his son, both laugh;
when a son gives to his father, both cry.
William Shakespeare

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs a woman can have, since the payment is pure love. Thank you, Matthew, for the joy you have given me for the last twenty-two years! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to keep in touch, even though you have been out of the nest for several years and are now married. Thank you for expressing your thankfulness and gratefulness for all the sacrifices Dad and I made for you over the years. (Remember your animal menageries?)

We've Moved Into the New Mulberry Lane Farm Store!

We rushed to complete the store so we could be open for the strawberry season. We reached our goal and moved in the first day of strawberry season. What an amazing amount of long hours went into getting moved in on time. Thank you Gerald, Tim and Caleb for the fantastic job on the new store!

Caleb (13) did all of the electrical for the store. This is what is called hands on education---the very best kind.

Great job, Caleb!

Timothy did all of the insulation work---a nasty job. He came in for lunch one day and asked, "Has anyone ever heard of III?" He had us stumped. He said he now had it. "Insulation Installation Inhalation."

Tim showed amazing stick-to-it-ive-ness on this big job!

Here I am filling orders outside of the store.

Taking a few moments to fill my
kitchen window box on Mother's Day.

We moved into the new store, even though we have not finished the dry wall. We will mud and paint when we are closed over the winter. How wonderful to be in air conditioning as I serve customers. How wonderful to have the space to provide you with great new organic products! I am really thrilled and we are excited that we can now serve you better in our new facility. Thank you for being our loyal customers and helping make our new store possible!

Our "old" checkout counter looks great in my new store!

We had a fan.tab.u.lous strawberry year this year! WOW---we broke all records!

More details next time. Stay tuned!

Blessings,
Helen
